A Resounding Success: The Clinic Brings Barcelona to Life for Australian Youth

From November 30 to December 9, over 70 young Australian footballers, accompanied by their families, embarked on the “Barcelona Experience”—a journey that etched unforgettable memories. For ten incredible days, and thanks to our partner, Akaw Sports, these players immersed themselves in the vibrant life of Barcelona while embracing the core values of FC Barcelona.

A standout feature of the program was an exclusive three-day training camp at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper—the very facilities where FC Barcelona’s first team trains. Just meters away from the grounds where stars like Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and other football icons prepare for their matches, these young athletes honed their skills under the guidance of official FC Barcelona coaches, gaining invaluable insights into elite football methodologies.

The experience, however, went far beyond the training grounds. The young players competed in five matches against local Spanish clubs, providing them with a rare opportunity to test their skills in a challenging European football environment—a remarkable feat for children traveling from such distant shores.

Off the pitch, the program ensured that families and players fully absorbed the essence of Barcelona. Highlights included attending a live FC Barcelona first-team match, an electrifying event that connected them with thousands of passionate fans. They also explored the city’s rich history, visiting iconic landmarks like the Sagrada Familia, the Gothic Barcelona Cathedral, and other cultural treasures.
