Barcelona, soccer, and values: a double unforgettable experience for Barça Academy Australia & New Zealand
Between late March and early April, Barça Academy Australia & New Zealand experienced two major events that filled thousands of children with excitement, offering them an experience they will remember forever. On one hand, over 100 young players from Barça Academy Australia took part in the Barça Academy Experience at the end of March — an exclusive training and local experience program held in Barcelona. On the other hand, from April 14 to 17, the 12th edition of the Barça Academy World Cup took place, bringing together nearly 2,000 boys and girls from around the world, including players from the Barça Academy soccer camps in Australia & New Zealand. Two distinct experiences with the same goal: to educate through soccer and to promote the values of FC Barcelona. Both events, in partnership with Akaw Sports, were a resounding success.
Barça Academy Barcelona Experience: a full immersion into the Barça style
During the Barça Academy Barcelona Experience, held from March 22 to 31, more than 100 young Australians had the chance to train just like the Club’s future talents, using FC Barcelona’s official facilities and under the guidance of Barça coaches. It was a unique opportunity to experience the La Masia methodology firsthand, applying the technical and tactical principles that define the Barça DNA. In addition to training, participants played matches against local teams and were lucky enough to attend two very special games at Estadi Lluís Companys: the Catalan derby against Girona and the women’s Clásico against Real Madrid. It was an experience that allowed them not only to grow as players but also to feel what it truly means to be part of the Barça family.
Beyond soccer: culture, fun, and friendship
Their stay wasn’t focused solely on soccer. Tourist activities, beach days, cultural visits, and time spent socializing completed an unforgettable experience. With personal growth as the main goal, the Barça Academy Barcelona Experience prioritizes the social dimension of the project and offers much more than just sports training.
Barça Academy World Cup: soccer from all over the world, Barça passion
At the same time, from April 12 to 21, the experience around the Barça Academy World Cup took place — an international tournament that brought together 179 teams from 26 countries in Barcelona. Over four days, 664 matches were played, with teams from five continents and 16 girls’ teams participating in its third edition. Teams from the Barça Academy Australia participated and truly gave their best. Beyond the prestige of competing in an international tournament, the event offered children a unique opportunity to compete on a global stage, reinforcing the values of coexistence, teamwork, and respect. Nearly 2,000 participants in this edition had the special opportunity to meet ambassadors such as Marc Casadó, Pau Víctor, and Vicky López, who shared their experience and passion for soccer.
Two events, one shared Barça spirit
From Barça Academy Australia, we want to thank all the participants, families, and teams involved in these two initiatives. Both the Barça Academy Experience and the World Cup reflect our commitment to comprehensive education, sporting excellence, and spreading the values of FC Barcelona around the world. Let’s keep growing together!
